Taylor Swift Is in Talks for the First Billion-Dollar Concert Residency in History, and It’s Down to Madison Square Garden or the Sphere
Billy Joel’s MSG run made $266.7 million. Celine Dion’s two Vegas residencies pulled a combined $681.3 million. Swift’s camp thinks she can pass both and hit ten figures.
The venue fight is down to Madison Square Garden in New York or the Sphere in Las Vegas, with MSG believed to be the frontrunner.

Sources tell Naughty But Nice that while everyone watched the wedding festivities, entertainment executives were chasing a deal that could rewrite the live music business. “The wedding may have opened the door, but the real prize is a Taylor Swift residency,” one insider said. “That’s the billion-dollar opportunity everyone wants.”

The math is what makes it plausible. After the Eras Tour, executives see a permanent home as the next move: instead of hauling a stadium production across the globe, Swift brings the world to one room. “Fans would fly in from every continent,” another source said. “Hotels, restaurants, Broadway, airlines, everyone wins. It becomes an economic engine.”

The decision comes down to prestige versus spectacle. “MSG has the legacy. The Sphere has the spectacle,” an insider said. “Taylor is one of the few artists who could make either venue the center of the entertainment universe.”

No deal has been signed, and Swift’s camp isn’t talking. Insiders believe the outcome is inevitable.
