You And I Will Never Be Off The Table

Do you ever think God fights for two souls to be together? Because I’m starting to believe that.

We’re like Ross and Rachel, you and I. There’s something inevitable about the two of us. It’s like at any moment we could fall back into each other’s arms, a little harder in love.

Everyone around us knows it’s not over for us. Friends don’t look at each other the way we do. There’s an electricity that surrounds us. With just one touch, sparks ignite around us. It’s like everyone around us can feel our hearts beating out of our chests. They can feel the passion, the anticipation.

Every time I hear your name, I get goosebumps; I forget to breathe for a second. It takes me back to the first time I knew I was falling for you. I’ll never forget my dad telling me he could see it in my eyes. I knew right then and there I was in trouble, but I didn’t care because I would have given anything to be with you—I still would.

You’re the first person I look for in a crowded room. You are my safe haven, and I don’t want to be in this world without you. With you, I can be myself. With you, I am the best version of myself.

Sometimes when I think about the future, you’re the only part I’m certain about. We’ve been through way too much together to not end up together in the end. I don’t know if I could ever feel this way about someone else. I need it to be you in the end. I want our fairytale ending.

So the next time you think it’s over between us for real this time, remember that you and I will never be off the table. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
