It Is Not Your Time Yet, And That Is Okay

I hope you know that as terrifying and as lonely all this may feel, this is not your forever.

I understand that you might be feeling frustrated. I understand that things were not supposed to happen this way. I understand that what has happened was not in the plan you had orchestrated for yourself.

As much as you try to push your thoughts aside, you can’t deny that it does hurt a little. It does hurt when there has been a wrench tossed into your plans. It does hurt that you allowed yourself to succumb to your circumstances more than you would have. It does hurt that you are not at the stage where you hoped you would be. It does hurt when you are not at the stage the world hoped you would be. It does hurt that you’ve fallen down and you find yourself unable to get up for a long while.

I understand.

But I hope you know that as terrifying and as lonely all this may feel, this is not your forever.

You may have been trying to keep your head above the waters for a while. You may have been in a spotlight that is getting brighter, and you’re scared of falling right back down. You may be within the depths of your darkness. You may have just risen up from battling your own demons. You may have felt bruised, beaten, and drained to a pulp.

This may not have been your time yet. But that is okay. Your time to shine will come. Your better days will come. Your darkness is not eternal. The season you are going through will not last forever.

Let yourself feel. Feel all of it: everything that has taught you, shaped you, and challenged you as a person.

It may not have been your time yet, and that is okay. Your time will come. One day, you will be able to look back on this season of your life and use it to encourage others who may find themselves in your position.

It may not have been your time yet, and that is okay. I hope you know that.
