You Are Not The Mistakes You Make
It goes without saying that we all mess up every once in a while. And sometimes we’re to blame and other times, it’s simply out of our hands.
Tripping and falling is a part of what makes you who you are. The trick, really, is to keep going. To grow and change and become a better, stronger, smarter version of who you’re going to be.
Because it’s all a journey. Just because you didn’t make it to where you wanted to be at the exact right moment, it doesn’t mean that it’s all over.
Of course, some days are harder than others. And some failures, some mistakes feel like the end of the world.
But just remember one very important thing. You are not your mistakes.
They do not define you in any way, shape, or form. They might slow you down a little, or take a little bit of time to get through. But you’re going to make it.
Believe it or not, we are all a little tougher than we think. And that fight in you, that’s the thing to hold onto and protect at all costs. Because that light is going to lead you exactly where you need to be when you need to be there.
Giving up because you feel like you’ve messed everything up one too many times is a feeling that weighs on all of us. But you have to pick yourself right back up.
Sure, stopping and starting, falling and failing gets old after a while. But just know that it is not your end game.
Where you are now is not the same place you have to stay.
Life gets hard and it’s complicated and messy and it’s never the thing that you expect. You’re going to leave and get left. You going to jump through hoops, you’re going to get defeated.
But it does not mean that you are not worthy of a happy ending. And it’s going to get harder before it gets better.
Just always keep this, in the back of your mind when you feel yourself slipping.
This is not the end of you.
It’s only the jumping off point. And that is always enough.
