Hank Green Says AI Chatbots Became a “Bad Habit” He Couldn’t Shake

Hank Green, the science communicator known for making evidence-based education go viral on YouTube, says the constant dopamine hit of AI chatbots turned into a habit he couldn’t put down. Now he’s slowing down his posting.

The man whose whole career is teaching people to trust the evidence just admitted a chatbot had quietly worked its way into his research and his head. He says the pull of it turned into something he couldn’t put down, and his wife and brother both told him they were worried.

Even with his background as a science communicator, Green says the “bad habit” was one he couldn’t shake. In response, he’s slowing down his posting on YouTube.
