Don’t Feel Too Bad for Perez Hilton — He Sent Lady Gaga a Wheelchair Meme Labeled ‘Karma’ When She Was in the Hospital
Perez Hilton is currently hospitalized after harming himself on TikTok Live, traumatizing everyone who saw the feed before it was removed. While some have empathy for the blogger, many of us remember how cruel he was to others for decades. A resurfaced Lady Gaga tweet from 2013 is the perfect illustration of this.

Before Lady Gaga and Perez Hilton became bitter public enemies, the two were friends. Hilton had been an early supporter of Gaga’s career and once affectionately referred to her as his “wifey.” But their friendship eventually deteriorated, leading to a very public feud in 2013—and one particularly disturbing allegation from Gaga.

In February 2013, Gaga was forced to cancel the remainder of her Born This Way Ball tour after suffering a serious hip injury. She ultimately underwent surgery and revealed that she had actually fractured her hip. The injury left her temporarily dependent on a wheelchair as she recovered.
Months later, in August 2013, Gaga publicly accused Hilton of mocking her injury in a text message.

On August 16, during a heated exchange surrounding the release of her single “Applause,” Gaga tweeted that she still had a message Hilton had allegedly sent her on the day of her accident.
According to Gaga, the message contained an image of herself sitting in a wheelchair with the word “KARMA” written across it. She also said the message included an image of Madonna pointing a gun at her.

Gaga followed up by telling her fans not to respond to Hilton with hatred, writing that she was okay and urging them to ignore him.
The feud escalated further a few days later when fans told Gaga that Hilton had apparently been seen at her New York City apartment building. Gaga accused him of trying to stalk her and demanded that he stay away from her and her family. Hilton denied the accusation, saying he had been looking at apartments with his mother and son and had not known Gaga lived in the building.

Perez denied the allegations at the time, calling them false and defamatory.
