Taylor Swift’s Wedding Planners Built a Contingency Plan for One Uninvited Guest: Kanye West
Kanye West wasn’t invited to the wedding. His name still dominated the security meetings, because planners were convinced he might show up anyway.

Security at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s July wedding had a specific plan ready for one person who wasn’t on the guest list, and it wasn’t for drones or paparazzi.

According to insiders who spoke to Naughty But Nice, West’s name came up repeatedly during planning meetings. He performed the day after the wedding at the Alamodome in San Antonio, and organizers worried he could try to make an uninvited appearance at the Madison Square Garden celebration.
“It was a real concern,” one insider said. “Security had a plan in place if Kanye showed up. They weren’t taking any chances.”

The worry traces back to one of pop culture’s longest feuds, starting in 2009 when West interrupted Swift’s acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards. A brief reconciliation collapsed in 2016 over his song “Famous” and the edited phone-call clips Kim Kardashian released, which fueled years of backlash against Swift before the full recording backed up her account.
The day passed without incident, and the contingency plan was never used.
