A widow of a fallen NYPD detective is putting words to what a $2 million donation from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce has meant to families like hers.
Patricia Polimeni, whose NYPD detective husband died in 2020, told the couple their gift is “so much more than a financial gift.”
The $2 million landed at Answer the Call, which pays out to the families of NYPD, FDNY, Port Authority, and EMS workers killed in the line of duty.
The families who wrote back weren’t thanking the couple for the money. They were thanking them for remembering.
