Gwyneth Paltrow Called “Nepo Baby” an “Ugly Moniker.” Her Daughter Apple, 22, Lands Chloé Campaign Days After Vanderbilt Graduation
Apple Blythe Alison Martin is the daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin. She was born in London in 2004 and started at Vanderbilt in fall 2022. She majored in law, history, and society. She joined Kappa Kappa Gamma. She graduated this month.

She wore a white Vivienne Westwood dress under her graduation gown. Gwyneth, Chris, her brother Moses, and her stepfather Brad Falchuk were all there.

Days later, Chloé announced her as the face of their à la Plage summer capsule. The campaign was shot by British photographer David Sims under the direction of creative director Chemena Kamali, who took over the house in 2023 and rebuilt it around the soft, romantic register the brand was known for in the 1970s. Claudia Schiffer fronted the inaugural chapter of the capsule. Apple is the second.
Apple’s caption on the announcement read: “What an absolute honor to get to work with Chloé. I have never seen such ethereal pieces. I cannot fathom how incredibly beautiful this collection is and the fact that I was able to shoot in them makes me feel more than words can express.”
This is not her first modeling job. She has shot for Self-Portrait and Gap. She co-wrote Coldplay’s “Let Somebody Go” with Selena Gomez in 2022. She made her formal society debut at Le Bal in Paris in November 2024, in a custom Valentino gown by Alessandro Michele that took more than 750 hours to make. She is signed with CAA.
The comments split. The nepotism accusations came out fast. Apple is, by any working definition, a nepo baby. That sits wrong with some people. Her parents are an Oscar-winning actress who runs a billion-dollar wellness brand and the lead singer of Coldplay. Her stepfather is a TV producer. Other commenters flooded the post with praise for the photos and called Apple beautiful.
Apple has said she does not feel entitled to anything. She has spoken about the uneven balance between paparazzi attention and a normal life.
