Brad Pitt’s Daughter Zahara Graduated College Without Him There. Insiders Say He Didn’t Even Try to Attend.
Zahara was adopted from an orphanage in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia as an infant, raised by Angelina, and later formally adopted by Brad. She chose Spelman, a historically Black women’s college in Atlanta, and pledged the first historically Black sorority in the country. The name drop at her AKA induction in 2023 wasn’t a one-off. It was the announcement.

She isn’t the only one. Shiloh filed court documents to drop “Pitt” on her 18th birthday in May 2024. Vivienne is credited as Vivienne Jolie in her theater work. Maddox, Pax, and Knox all go by Jolie. All six adult children have moved in the same direction.
Brad and Angelina married at Miraval in France in August 2014. She filed for divorce five days after a September 2016 incident on a private plane, where she alleged he was drinking, became verbally and physically abusive, and got into a physical altercation with Maddox, who tried to intervene. The FBI and LAPD investigated. No charges were filed. The divorce was finalized in December 2024 after eight years of litigation.

Three weeks before graduation, Zahara spoke at a Pearl of Purpose mother-daughter brunch in Atlanta, with Angelina in the room. Near the end of her remarks she said: “I think back to a quote I saw years ago that said, ‘I am a strong woman because a strong woman raised me.’ Thank you, Mom.”

Brad has spoken publicly about his sobriety and his desire to reconcile with his kids, and has said his outreach hasn’t been welcomed. The source close to Angelina answered that directly to TMZ: “Nothing prevented him from showing up for her. Or ever visiting her. The day was about all she accomplished. Not whether he was willing to attend.”
