Watch: First Lady Melania Trump Just Walked into the White House East Room Escorted by a 6-Foot Humanoid Robot
The event was Day 2 of her Fostering the Future Together Global Coalition Summit at the White House on March 25, 2026.
It’s the first time in history a First Lady has hosted 45 nations and their First Spouses at the White House in a single day. The summit is the evolution of her first-term “Be Best” campaign, shifting from online safety and bullying to AI literacy, technology empowerment, and international partnerships for children’s education. 28 tech companies were at the table: OpenAI, Microsoft, xAI, Meta, Google, Palantir, Adobe, Zoom, and more.
Instead of President Trump at her side, the First Lady walked the red carpet into the East Room escorted by Figure 03, a 6-foot-tall general-purpose humanoid robot built by Figure AI. The entrance video is already being called “the most 2026 White House moment ever.” One major account’s post hit 240,000 views in under 2 hours.
The robot delivered brief opening remarks, gesturing with its hands: “Thank you First Lady Melania Trump for inviting me to the White House.” Then it switched languages on the fly to personally welcome every international guest in their native language. The East Room erupted in applause. That clip is being shared even more than the walk-in. Then it walked off the way it came.
“It’s fair to state you’re my first American-made humanoid guest in the White House,” Melania said with a smile, looking straight at the robot. The line is already being turned into memes and quote graphics.
She then described how humanoid-based AI could be used to educate children. “Imagine a humanoid educator named Plato. Access to the classical studies is now instantaneous. Predictably, our children will develop deep critical thinking and independent reasoning abilities.”
Among the First Spouses in the room: Brigitte Macron of France, Olena Zelenska of Ukraine, who gave remarks on using AI and digital tools for wartime education resilience, and Sara Netanyahu of Israel.
Figure AI has been developing general-purpose humanoid robots since 2022. The company has raised significant funding from Jeff Bezos, NVIDIA, and Microsoft, and emphasizes U.S. manufacturing. Figure 03 is the latest generation, and some chatter on X is already speculating that Figure AI’s valuation could jump toward $39 billion off this single demonstration.
Using a physical humanoid robot as a speaker rather than a screen or voice assistant was deliberate. It makes the concept of AI in education tangible. It also signals U.S. competitiveness in AI hardware against China’s robotics push and gives Figure AI one of the highest-profile demonstrations a robotics company has ever received.
