I Waited Here For Dave Grohl Everlong
Dave Grohl was wasted, first of all and still managed to be one of the most engaging showmen I've ever seen.

This might be incredibly niche and specific, but I love Dave Grohl. I’ve loved him everlong. You know how there are just some celebrities that you will always defend and love? Dave Grohl is one of mine. He’s so talented and funny and cute. SIGH. Anyway, my dad just emailed me this video of Grohl playing with John Fogerty on Jimmy Kimmel last night and it’s pretty, pretty good:

So I thought I’d compile some other awesome Grohl moments to convince you to love him too.
1. Drum solos, drum solos everywhere!

I mean, you can pretty much just look up “dave grohl drum solo” and be amazed. This is a good one from when he’s young. There’s a nice compilation here too. The guy is so super musically-talented. It took me a while to realize how important a good drummer is because if you don’t know any better, it just looks like some dude flailing around in the back. But actually, being a drummer takes great leadership and skill. And if you’re paying attention, Dave Grohl is one of the best.
2. Tiny Dancer

This is among my favorite things that has ever happened. It’s so sincere and yet funny and ironic. Dave Grohl on the “Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn,” doing a rendition of Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer” as a tribute to the film Almost Famous. Unfortunately, he doesn’t get his “I am a Golden God!” kiddie pool moment, but it’s still super amusing and a nice cover of a classic tearjerker, uplifting song.
3. He’s committed to rock n’ roll.

This is a really great 2011 interview with him on “Chelsea Lately,” where he talks about how the Foo Fighters kind of just do their own thing and stick to rock, and that whenever he bothers to check out modern music he is baffled by the use of computers and the ways recording and style have changed, mostly the loss of art in playing instruments. He also stands up to bullying by “Glee’s” creators shaming any band who doesn’t want to be a part of their circus. Why do people make such a big deal about it? Why do you HAVE to do “Glee” if they ask? Good questions, Dave Grohl. Stick to your guns.
4. Foo Fighters shows are incredibly fun.

When I was in high school, I took my little sister to see the Foo Fighters and Weezer on their “Foozer” tour. She was primarily interested in seeing Rivers Cuomo (as was I, not gonna lie). But we hung around when Weezer finished and the Foo Fighters came out. Our tiny minds were blown. We rocked the eff out at that show and it was a total sisterly bonding night. Dave Grohl was wasted, first of all and still managed to be one of the most engaging showmen I’ve ever seen. He played sick guitar and the crowd was as hyped as I’ve ever seen one. It was maybe one of the top 5 most exciting and fun shows I’ve ever been to in my life. My sister got an education that night. An education about rock n’ roll, thanks to Mr. Grohl.
5. This video happened.

NSFW. This includes trucker homoeroticism and Dave Grohl’s nude tush. CAN’T LOOK AWAY.
6. THEN THIS HAPPENED:
Hahahaha.
This isn’t even the tip of the Grohl-berg, really. But you get the picture. Now I have hopefully started you down a Dave Grohl K-hole that will last many hours and help you procrastinate whatever work you have to be doing. Hopefully no one is ….
WAITING HERE FOR YOU. EVERLONG.
