This Is Your Reminder That Strong Women Are Still Allowed To Struggle

You’re happy, you have a pretty good life going for you but you don’t feel like you deserve it. 10 steps forward quickly feels like 20 steps backwards. No one else sees it that way but it is exhausting.

This may come as a shock so brace yourself but strong women are allowed to struggle.

Whoa I know what you’re thinking, you’re the strong one, the one people reach out to when their life is upside down. There is no way you can let the world know that you’re also human.

Nope. Wrong. Here’s your reminder that when your life feels like the sand at the bottom of an hour glass, you’re allowed to reach out for help. It doesn’t remove the strength that is inside you, in fact it makes you a stronger individual.

You worry about every little thing down to genetics and how it could have potentially tainted your entire being without you getting a say.

I bet you’ve had that nagging feeling, the one that goes deep in your gut. You know the one that you keep hidden at bay only for it to creep into existence slowly.

It’s that feeling that instantaneously can squash all of your accomplishments, that diminishes any progress you’ve made in life to what feels like nothing. It leaves you feeling worthless, like you’re never going to get off this spinning merry-go-round.

You’re happy, you have a pretty good life going for you but you don’t feel like you deserve it. 10 steps forward quickly feels like 20 steps backwards. No one else sees it that way but it is exhausting.

You stay quiet because you don’t want to burden those that are close to you. You don’t want others to know that part of your head and or heart is hurting because you’re afraid they won’t understand or you’re afraid they’ll judge you harshly.

You see you’re the one your friends turn to when things are going south, because you are a trusted person. You’re a good listener, you never judge, and you have a huge open heart. So when you start to struggle you feel extremely conflicted and start to close yourself off, to protect that image without dragging someone else into your struggles.

Remember these things:

You are not alone.

Life is messy.

Surviving is sometimes enough.

You don’t have to explain yourself.

You don’t have to apologize.

Most importantly you don’t have to hide or feel ashamed.

Take a deep breathe, five seconds to just let it all out.

Even the strongest women struggle.

Let me repeat that for those in the back, yes you. EVEN THE STRONGEST WOMEN STRUGGLE.

You can’t be the rock all the time.

There isn’t a damn thing wrong with you.

Cry, scream, write, or take a minute for yourself but remember this.

You are strong.

You are resilient. You are amazing.

You’re a fighter.

You are not weak.

You will overcome anything set in front of you.

You will because you have before.

You’re allowed to be human. You don’t always have to be the strong one.

Being human isn’t weak.

Taking a minute to focus on you is okay. The things you’ve struggled through are not the things that define you.

There are lots of things that define you but this moment of sadness and feeling of defeat is not one of them.

So breathe, know you’re not alone.

You the strong one are still just that, strong.

You’re a warrior.

So here’s that reminder in case you start to forget, yes you are a strong woman and yes you are still allowed to struggle and you don’t have to answer to anyone about it.

You alone are enough.
