Drake, St. Vincent, Bjork, Lana Del Rey + More – The Ultimate Guide To Governors Ball 2015

Tomorrow kicks off the start of the fifth annual Governors Ball on Randall’s Island in NYC. Started in 2011, the festival has been a great place to start off the beginning of summer with a variety of musical acts from multiple genres along with awesome food from dozens of vendors.

This is my first year at Gov Ball and Michael Koh, co-worker and veteran Gov Ball attendee, will be joining me. If you’re headed there this weekend make sure to come say hi to us and who knows, maybe you’ll end up in one of our articles. Tweet us at @kotyneelis and @ughhugs.

Okay, so! Let’s go to the gritty details. Here’s who’s playing and here’s who we’re personally stoked to see live.

Drake, Lana Del Rey, deadmau5, Charli XCX, The Black Keys, RATATAT, My Morning Jacket, Bjork, Conor Oberst, Florence + The Machine, and Ryan Adams are some of the big names you can expect to see. All of these are awesome but like most music festivals I won’t have time to see everyone. I saw Lana Del Rey in Detroit last week and she put on a great show but do I want to see her again over seeing The Black Keys? Idk. One of the biggest conflicts for me is choosing between Bjork and Conor Oberst since they’re playing at the same time.

While the headliners and bigger font bands are awesome, I think GovBall is doing a great job at having tons of smaller acts on the lineup I’ve been crushing on for awhile. MØ, Little Dragon, Future Islands, Angus and Julia Stone, Death From Above 1979, The War On Drugs, and Diiv are just a handful of bands I’m looking forward to finally seeing live.
