Miss North Carolina USA Was Stripped of Her Title After Allegedly Saying the N-Word. She Says She Was Really Targeted for Being a “Conservative Christian.”
Brittany Boltinhouse lost her crown after posts allegedly using the n-word resurfaced. In her first interview since, she says the real reason was her faith: “I’m a proud conservative woman, but a Christian woman.”
Boltinhouse never addressed the resurfaced posts, which allegedly included racist remarks she’s thought to have shared between 2017 and 2019. What she did talk about was her belief system.
“I believe and think I was stripped from my title because of my political stance and my belief system as a conservative Christian woman,” she told Carolina Journal editor-in-chief Donna King in an interview published Friday.

Boltinhouse, who is Mormon, called herself “a God-fearing woman” and said she’s proud of her standards. She described the ordeal as an “emotional rollercoaster” and a “blessing in disguise,” adding that a confidentiality clause kept her from getting into specifics.
Miss USA organizers revoked her Miss North Carolina USA 2026 title Wednesday and handed the crown to runner-up Myla Hadley. Chairman and CEO Thom Brodeur didn’t address the specific allegations but said the organization “does not tolerate racism, homophobia, transphobia nor language that strips any person of their dignity.”

Asked whether supporting Donald Trump is “disqualifying” in the pageant world, Boltinhouse said, “Honestly I don’t know.”
