This is one of the quietest, most public relationships Mendes has had in years.

Shawn Mendes and Bruna Marquezine have been showing up at the same São Conrado quiosque for days, ordering coffee, walking the promenade, and this week sharing a book at an outdoor table. On Wednesday they lounged at the same café in matching brown knits and beige pants, holding hands, hugging, and trading a few kisses before strolling the orla with his arm around her shoulders.

He’s 27, she’s 30 (born August 4, 1995, in Duque de Caxias, just outside Rio), and the matching earth-tone fits all week have been a response to the cool “friozinho carioca” snap. Shawn’s been photographed in the same rotation almost daily: baseball cap, fuzzy brown sweater, a coat draped over his shoulders.

The morning before the kiss day, Shawn was photographed carrying Bruna’s toy poodle Chihiro along the beach while they walked to the same kiosk for coffee. Chihiro is named after the Studio Ghibli film Spirited Above and was adopted by Bruna in Japan; she shares custody of Chihiro (and a second dog, Haku) with ex João Guilherme.

The first dating sparks came in mid-to-late November 2025 when they were spotted at a Dua Lipa concert in São Paulo, followed by more Rio sightings in December. They spent New Year’s 2025 to 2026 together in Alagoas and flew back into Rio’s Galeão Airport hand in hand.

Their first major U.S. PDA moment landed on January 7, 2026, on a grocery run in LA with open hugs and affection, and “girlfriend” language has been standard in the media ever since.

This is at least their third multi-day stretch at this exact São Conrado kiosk in 2026 — they had affectionate beach days at the same spot in March and June, and they’ve also been spotted training together at Rio gyms earlier this year. Brazilian fans have nicknamed the way he looks at her mid-conversation “Efeito Marquezine,” a soft, attentive, almost starstruck stare.

Neither has posted a formal confirmation, and there’s been no statement from either camp as of this morning. This is widely described as one of Shawn’s quietest and most consistently public relationships since his years with Camila Cabello from 2019 to 2023, and the repeated hometown coffee dates have made a denial beside the point.
