Sophie Cunningham Will Be Vice President of the United States, Says Chuck Klosterman
Chuck Klosterman put a year on it: 2050. He laid out the case on the latest episode of The Bill Simmons Podcast.

“Sophie Cunningham… I’m going to say 2050, is going to be Vice President of the United States. I don’t know what party she’ll be in, I don’t know anything about her political views. But she will be the vice presidential candidate, at least the candidate. I don’t know what it is. It’s something about the fact that she wears those sleeves on the court, something about the way she triggers in-bound plays at the end of games, makes me think she will be someone’s ideal vice president. You know, she has a damn likable personality,” he said.

The market agrees her value is bigger than basketball. Project B, a new global women’s league, has reportedly offered her $2 million-plus with equity to leave the WNBA, where she made around $100,000 this past season.

Her podcast is a big piece of the profile. She co-hosts “Show Me Something” on Colin Cowherd’s The Volume network with West Wilson, her high school best friend from Columbia, Missouri, who’s now a cast member on Bravo’s Summer House. She’s been unfiltered enough on it to draw a $1,500 WNBA fine early on for criticizing the league and officials.

She also works as a player analyst for USA Network, and turned up as a UFC ring girl in Las Vegas over the weekend, photographed alongside Trump ally Dana White.

Fans had already tagged her “MAGA Barbie,” but she pushed back on the label. “I’m clearly white and from Missouri, and so I think there was a lot of assumption there,” she said. “All I have to say is I really am right in the middle, and I think a lot of America is like that.”
