If You Take Away Anything From ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’, Let It Be This

But if this is the kind of love that people write songs about, then you two will find each other again one day.

Sometimes love comes to you when you least expect it, and sometimes, these connections are so powerful, as if you two were inexplicably bonded by no other choice. And this kind of love hurts.

This love brings out a side of you that you never want to face. It uproots your fears, your addictions, your hurt, your defenses. It shows you how broken you are. It shows you how broken they are. As beautiful and torturous and all-consuming as this connection is, you know in your gut that your togetherness was meant to happen. You feel it, the fire in one another. You understand and see one another on a level that others will never understand.

But sometimes, the love you want might not be the love you need, or the love you deserve. Sometimes, two people can be so right for each other, and still not good for one another.

Love isn’t supposed to hurt. Love isn’t supposed to be about heartache, agony, fights, tears. Love shouldn’t be two broken people finding a home in one another. Love shouldn’t be this unbearable thing. Longing. Wanting. Waiting.

Sometimes, with a connection like this, you have to let each other go.

You will do everything in your power to be together, even knowing how wrong you are for one another. You bargain with the Universe, you make mistakes, you hurt some people along the way. Maybe you even hurt yourself, too.

But if this is the kind of love that people write songs about, then you two will find each other again one day. Sometimes, this love always makes it back to one another, and nothing, and no one, can tear that apart.

Right person, wrong time. Isn’t that always how it goes?
