Yes, you read that one right, I did in fact save thousands of dollars while living in two of the most expensive European cities as well as an excellent Philadelphia suburb and… got paid to do so!

I’ve spent half a year traveling the whole triangle of this subcontinent, met hundreds of people and had a mix of good and challenging experiences. One thing I can tell you as a fact: love it or hate it, India will never get boring!

Traveling will teach you the value of experience versus the value of ownership. When you travel, you automatically prioritize having very little possessions in order to move smoothly, from country to country.

When my long term relationship fell apart, after many problems and little nurturing, we decided to take off to India for half a year and see if things would improve, away from our everyday life.

I’ve picked up grapes in France for 3 weeks and then had money to travel for a year — on a super low budget, not luxury traveling for sure. Usually, the money is great and the work is temporary.

When we travel with friends or a partner, we tend to stick to that little group of familiar faces and even though you’ll meet new people, the dynamics and interactions won’t be as deep and fulfilling.
