Wait For The Guy Who Looks At You And Actually Sees You

Believe me when I say that there is a huge difference between being desired and being valued. The guy who calls you at midnight every Friday night like clockwork does not value you, so stop answering.

“But you’ve always been good enough. You’ve just been giving the best parts of you to the wrong people” –r.h sin

Come on lady, let’s hear it.

“Ugh, I am so done with these douchebags”

You did it again, didn’t you? You’re so tired of offering up your time and energy for the wrong guys, yet you shut out the guys that actually want to pick your brain and get to know your heart.

The red flags are so insanely visible. It’s almost as if he has Douche Lord tattooed across his forehead, yet you find every single excuse to explain to your circle of people who the arrogant, unavailable, and insecure guy is a “real great catch.”

You cruise through these dating apps and swipe right to the strategically posed shirtless mirror selfie, yet you stand up the guy who actually has a degree, life goals, and in his career. You’re so intrigued by the excitement of having to chase someone who ends up making you feel more like a crumbled up piece of paper on the bathroom floor. You lust after the quest solely, because he meets your physical expectations.

Let’s be real here, the thought of being alone absolutely terrifies you, so you strip yourself of your values and morals. You start putting your heart on the back burner and begin to settle for the flawed, distant, and standoffish guy. You do this, because you’re a nurturer and want to be the one that fixes him.

If that’s you, then STOP.

I am never one to validate the feelings and emotions of others, but trust me when I tell you that you don’t want that. The guy who treats you like that will never be the guy you want to end up with. Don’t discount yourself to appeal the eyes of a man who doesn’t even come close to deserving you. You are worth way more than being a second option. You deserve someone who is going to cherish your delicate being. A lasting relationship will never be achieved if you keep these blinders on, so take them off. You owe it to yourself to take these guys off the pedestal and put yourself there.

Stop searching for love and let it find you.

Love should never be a chase, or something forced. There is someone out there that wants to love exactly the way you do. Believe me when I say that there is a huge difference between being desired and being valued. The guy who calls you at midnight every Friday night like clockwork does not value you, so stop answering. The guy who only wants to be with you only when it’s hidden away in his room does not value you, so stop going. Don’t make excuses for the mixed signals. The moment you feel as though you deserve better, you probably do. Actions prove perfectly why words mean absolutely nothing.

Wait for the guy who wants to hold your hand in a crowded room.

Wait for the guy who makes you authentically laugh.

Wait for the guy who remembers the simple things you disclosed about yourself.

Wait for the guy that grabs your waist and kisses your lips in front of his friends.

Wait for the guy who wants to talk about life under the stars.

Wait for the guy that looks at you like you’re the only girl in the room.

Wait for the guy who lets you be yourself.

Wait for the guy who makes you a priority.

Wait for the guy who encourages you.

Wait for the guy who motivates you.

Wait for the guy that wants to know your heart.

Wait for the guy who truly wants to commit to you.

Wait for the guy who plans a date without asking you for help.

Wait for the guy who has life goals.

Wait for the guy who wants to hear about your day.

Wait for the guy that looks at you, and actually sees you. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
