You may know Ken Burns from his 400,000 documentaries on PBS, or from his eighteen and a half hour-long documentary about baseball. Even if you don’t know him from any of those illustrious things, his influence is everywhere — the Ken Burns effect, and effect named after Kenneth Burns himself, has become such a popular and renowned editing technique that iMovie went so far as to name the feature after him.
