My Heart Is 2,446 Miles Away

Writing this broke my heart.

By

when you're in a long-distance relationship
haley

2,446 miles

I envy your sheets
how they get to wrap around you
touch your skin in the Lonely Hours

I slip on my liberal arts boots
paint my lips raspberry red
and kiss my coffee mug good morning

I keep my hands busy
my body moving
my mouth rambling

Thinking is a dangerous game
Solitude is my downfall
Writing this broke my heart

silence is unraveling
threads could travel 2,446 miles
tick tock- the thought

of hiding in sheets
fairy-princess-paris-land
poppy wishes into saw dust

too sweet and all consuming
honey bees still sting
It was and will be. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
