5 Life-Changing Benefits Of Meditation
By Roshni Kapur
There are over 20 types of meditation, but five years ago I picked up Twin Hearts meditation, a heart-centered meditation, and I have never felt lighter, happier, and more rejuvenated. Heart-centered meditation helps one to relinquish their fears and negative emotions and soak in the essence of loving kindness and compassion. These are five reasons why you should incorporate meditation into your everyday life.
1. You can cleanse dirty energy.
Meditation helps you to disintegrate negative energy and cleanse your system. When an abundance of divine energy enters into the body, it cleanses what is toxic, replenishing it with new, positive energy. Meditation also helps to remove blocked or stagnated energy, whether it is physical, mental or emotional.
This process will allow you to let go of grudges and pent-up anger, leaving you happier, lighter, and emancipated.
2. You will be in better control of your emotions.
The practice of meditation can help you to stabilize thoughts and emotions. During meditation, the emotional baggage flushes out of the system, giving the mind more clarity and a healthy flow of thoughts.
By nature, I have always been hot tempered, impulsive, impatient, and irritable. There have been times that I have regretted saying something because I allowed my emotions to override my rationality. After years of meditation, I feel less impulsive and in better control of my anger and emotions. I have a better train of thoughts, and I get irritated less easily.
3. You will become better at harmonizing relationships.
Meditation helps one to be filled with an abundance of love and kindness when divine energy penetrates into the system. Through regular meditation, your emotional intelligence increases and you have a higher ability to empathize and understand others.
4. You become sharper and more intelligent.
Believe it or not, meditation makes one more intelligent. Once the negative emotional thoughts and emotional baggage is cleared from your system, you have clarity of mind that helps in faster decision making.
I took extremely heavy and demanding sociology and law modules during my undergraduate stint. Meditation helped me to grasp concepts and case laws faster than usual, and ace my examinations.
5. You will be more intuitive.
Intuition is the ability to comprehend something instinctively without any conscious reasoning. Meditation helps to develop your instincts and intuition, which is a great tool for understanding and living a better, more conscious life.
