To The Girl Who Hasn’t Been Herself Lately

You don’t need to find your spark, because it’s already within you—you just have to rekindle the light in your soul.

I am writing this to remind you how gorgeous and strong you are. These past few days or months, you might’ve felt lost and lonely. It’s like time keeps on passing by and you’re still stuck in the same place. I know how terrible it is to feel like you are insignificant in this world or, worse, like no one understands how you feel.

But that’s not true—you are not worthless or alone, because God is always there for you. People may not always understand how you feel, but God does. He always has.

Remember that it’s okay to feel lost and not okay, but don’t let that feeling stay in your life for too long. Don’t let those negativities stop you from being you. Because only you can change your situation, not those people who criticize you or the mistakes you’ve made. Those things are just part of who you are, but they don’t define your whole being. Only you can define who or what you can be.

You don’t need to find your spark, because it’s already within you—you just have to rekindle the light in your soul. Be kind to yourself, especially when you are in this phase. Instead of bashing yourself, say something nice about yourself. You deserve spoonfuls of pep talks, not harsh words.

Keep on believing that you are meant for all the beautiful things life has to offer. Believe that you are meant to shine like a star instead of a meteor falling from the sky. Have faith in God’s plan and prepare yourself for it, because His plans are something our simple minds can’t fathom.

This too shall pass and you will be fine. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
