An Open Letter To The Ones Who Were Left Behind

We may not always understand how God works, but I assure you it’s always for the best. It always is.

First things first: you are not alone. Never alone. Because deep in your heart, you know that there’s more people in your life who stayed and never left. Those people who still love you at your worst.

This may sound cliche, but this is the truth: Everything happens for a reason.

People coming in and out of our lives has a reason, has a certain purpose. We may not know what it is but, when the right time comes, we will know. Because God Himself has a plan for us.

Maybe you will not believe what I am trying to tell you right now, because you’re deeply hurt and I’m just a total stranger. You might think that no one understands what you’ve been feeling. You might even get annoyed reading this at the very moment.

But I just want you to know that people may not get you, but God does; He always does. Believe in the power of your faith in Him. Because that faith will save you; He can save you.

I’m not telling you this because I am religious. I am telling you this because I want to share with you how much I feel every time the world leaves me behind. I feel so weak and lost. I don’t know what I want to do or where will I start again. My anxiety tells me that people leave because I am not worthy or that I am a failure. I feel like I don’t belong anywhere.

Every time I feel like I am stuck in this black hole, God works to pull me out of that place. Despite my imperfections, those doubts and fears that made me forget about Him, He always makes me realize that I was never alone, that I am worthy of all the good things life has to offer, and that I matter.

We may not always understand how God works, but I assure you it’s always for the best. It always is.

Believing in the unseen may be hard, but it can be the most fulfilling thing that you can be proud of. Because it makes you a stronger person.

The world can leave us behind, but God will never leave us. Just put your faith in Him and believe in yourself. Love yourself the way God loves you. Be resilient. You can do lots of amazing things.

Don’t kill yourself just because of those people who left and didn’t see your beautiful soul. Rejections, failure and heartbreak may ruin your story, but it doesn’t mean your story will end just like that. There’s a lot of plot twists, remember? You are the main character of your story; you decide if you want a happy ending or not.

Remember, your life matters. You matter. Believe it or not, you do. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
