A Prayer To Trust God’s Closed Doors
Finding peace starts with surrendering our worries to the universe and trusting that God’s guidance will meet us in the middle of our uncertainty. Best-selling author of Finding God Every Day, Rebecca Simon, reminds us to trust God’s timing, embrace patience, and lean on His presence through every season of life.
Trust the closed doors. They’re making room for something better.

God,
There are doors in my life that closed when I wanted them to stay open. Opportunities that fell through. Relationships that ended. Paths that seemed right until they suddenly weren’t. And if I’m honest, I’m still grieving some of them. Still wondering if you made a mistake. Still going back in my mind to what could have been if things had just worked out differently.

Help me trust your closed doors the way I trust your open ones. Help me believe that what you withheld was just as intentional as what you gave. That the relationship that ended was protection. That the opportunity that fell through was redirection. That the path that closed was saving me from something I couldn’t see coming.

God, heal the disappointment I’ve been carrying around every closed door in my life. Replace the what-ifs with peace. Replace the grief with trust. Help me look back at what didn’t work out and see your hand in it — protecting me, redirecting me, preparing me for something better than what I lost. Your closed doors are not punishment. They are love. Help me believe that.
Amen.
