1. There is a constant battle over going out vs. staying in.

The ENFP will want to go out all the time, whereas the INFP will primarily prefer to stay in.   The battle will be on-going and never-ending. Additionally, when it comes time to plan how to spend vacation days, the ENFP will want to go out and see the world. Meanwhile, the INFP will fight for a staycation.  In order for both parties to be happy and have their needs met in the relationship, they will eventually need to reach some sort of compromise over the perpetual battle between going out and staying in.

2. There is a good possibility that, at some point, the house will be overrun by strays and rescue pets.

Both of these personality types are very compassionate. Both can’t stand to see suffering, especially in helpless creatures like animals. Consequently, they are likely to bring home strays. Sometimes they may do so with the intention of nursing the strays back to health, and eventually finding them a good home. But these two aren’t fooling anyone. Once a cat or dog sets foot in their home, it’s not going anywhere for a very, very long time.

3. They feel one another’s successes and failures deeply.

The ENFP and the INFP are both highly sensitive and empathetic.  They are also fiercely loyal and fiercely protective of one another. So when one of the two gets knocked down by life, the other gets knocked down as well.

4. Their house will probably always be a mess.

Neither the INFP or the ENFP are interested in mundane details such as house cleaning.  Consequently, the house will be messy and bills are likely to pile up — not because they can’t afford to pay them, but because paying bills is the sort of boring task that neither the INFP nor the ENFP can be bothered with.

5. They will have long, drawn out conversations about the actions and motivations of the other people in their lives.

Combine the ENFP’s sharp insights with INFP’s proclivity for internal analysis, and you have the basis for some really long conversations about the motivations of the people who populate their world. If you are friends with an INFP / ENFP couple, chances are they are analyzing your actions behind your back.

6. Socially, they will naturally balance each other out.

The ENFP will help the INFP come out of their shell. Meanwhile the INFP will help the ENFP deal with the inevitable social dry spells that sometimes come up in life.

7. They will be likely to move around A LOT.

The ENFP gets bored easily and is always looking towards the next adventure. The INFP will be more likely to want to stay put, but both are dreamers at their core — so staying in one place for a prolonged period of time is probably not in the cards for these two. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
