Why are you known for your absence and I’m known for my presence? Why are you defined by leaving and I’m defined by staying?

It means that you trust God with your life more than you trust yourself. It means that you trust his timing even when you’re running out of patience. It means that you trust his decisions even if you don’t like them.

I’ll always be there for you. Even if we’ve been apart for years. Even if the world changed every little part of you. I’ll always find the person I once loved and the person you once were.

But here’s what I learned about settling and staying quiet when you should speak up, it doesn’t win you any more friends, it doesn’t make you a likable person and it doesn’t make you a cooler person, it only makes people take you for granted.

The only good thing about remembering who you really are is that you get to choose what you can take back with you and what you can leave behind. You get to decide which parts are worth fighting for and which parts need to go.

Because my silence is more dangerous than my words, my silence can destroy much more than my words ever will. My silence means you’re no longer the one who’s occupying my thoughts and you’re no longer worth the noise.

Maybe the only word that’s left unsaid between us is goodbye. And maybe I have to say it first before you leave without saying a word like you always do.

You don’t know how to be kind to yourself. You don’t know how to relax, how to praise yourself, how to give yourself a pat on the back or how to forgive yourself.

Because there can’t be any more ‘maybes’ between us; we’ve wasted them all. There can’t be any more trials or chances, there can’t be any more years wasted on trying to make this work.

But more than anything, thank you for making me feel safe in knowing that wherever life takes me, I can always come back to you. I can always find a home in you.

But let me tell you this, when a girl comes to you and hands you her heart in all honesty and tells you that she likes you or that she wants more, that girl has no time for games.
