He fidgets all night. He acts like he is hiding something.

It makes you angry that you still care. You hate that you still wonder if he misses you at all. If he regrets anything at all. You want to be the kind of girl that can flip her hair and the boy and not be bothered. But you are human.

When you have built a life for yourself, an identity that you like a lot and are in a place that you love, changing is (understandably) one of the last things on your mind. But life is full of unexpected turns.

I have started pretending that I don’t notice. I never wanted to play pretend. But now I am forced to play a game that I never wanted to play for the sake of guarding what is left of my dignity when it comes to you.

You both liked each other and it was clear, but he wouldn’t commit and kept saying it was timing. Now, you know that that was bullshit too. You were angry, absolutely. He was wrong for you, yes. You knew that you deserve better, no doubt about it. It has been time to move on, of course. But your feet weren’t moving. You haven’t left.

Sometimes, it’s hard to know what will work until you start dating. You just have to grow together to see if you still want to do that. However, there are other times when you absolutely need to just cut the cord — and quick.

They actually wait. They aren’t secretly looking for someone to love them and acting they don’t care, they genuinely like their lives. The love the people in it and are not seeking validation from someone or anyone at all.

Goodbyes are hard because by the time you have to say them, usually,  you have built memories, discovered more about yourself in and because of the person or place that you are leaving. You’ve grown together, but you are at an impasse now and you both feel it. You can’t grow much more together anymore. You know it’s time, but it’s still hard.

For some, the idea of moving back home is not an option, but for others, it feels like the only option.

You don’t have to live as if you are a shell of your former non-loan paying self.

Do not be afraid to change your mind about what you thought was settled. Great things don’t come from fear, they come when you move in spite of the fear.

We can and should celebrate women for so much for than their love lives or lack thereof.
