You Are Allowed To Fail

You are allowed to fail because you are allowed to be human. You are not allowed to live a life with no failures because that would mean that you have failed by default.

You are allowed to fail, not once, not twice, but multiple times. You are not allowed to not get back up and try again.

You are allowed to fail in your twenties, in your thirties, in your forties, or whenever. You are not allowed to hold age as a barrier. You are allowed to experience new things and broaden your horizons. You are not allowed to stay stuck in the same place because you’re scared. You are allowed to take risks and push your potential. You are not allowed to think that mistakes make you weak. You are allowed to fail in relationships. You are not allowed to run from owning your shortcomings. You are allowed to lose because we can’t all be winners. You are not allowed to never win at anything ever. You are allowed to regret. You are not allowed to be stuck in your past. You are allowed to be sad and discouraged. You are not allowed to stop believing in yourself. You are allowed to hate all the dark and terrible things in this world. You are not allowed to stop fighting for the good that is left in it.

You are allowed to be in pain. You are not allowed to think that you cannot learn a lesson from it.

You are allowed to take small steps. You are not allowed to live too cautiously. You are allowed to be scared. You are not allowed to hide from your fears. You are allowed to be unlucky. You are not allowed to think that the universe is against you. You are allowed to be angry. You are not allowed to not apologize. You are allowed to be vulnerable and open. You are not allowed to be embarrassed. You are allowed to feel dejected and disappointed. You are not allowed to let it consume you. You are allowed to be open to all that life has to offer. You are not allowed to make excuses. You are allowed to not be successful. You are not allowed to run from becoming the best version of yourself. You are allowed to not be great and famous. You are not allowed to pass on making some small contribution to this world, even if it is a simple act of kindness.

You are allowed to grow and grow from a star to a supernova because you are made from the magical fabric of this mystical universe. You are not allowed to think that you are insignificant and unimportant.

You are allowed to fail because you are allowed to be human. You are not allowed to live a life with no failures because that would mean that you have failed by default.

So please, let yourself fail. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
