Anya Taylor-Joy has offered a blunt explanation for why she doesn’t vanish into her characters the way some of her peers do: the practical demands of a life that doesn’t pause for a performance.
The reason she doesn’t disappear into a role for months isn’t discipline, she suggests. It’s that she has a life to run, and losing her mind for 16 hours a day doesn’t fit around it.
As she put it, women often don’t method act because “we have things to take care of.”
