Jeffrey Epstein’s Girlfriend Karyna Shuliak Stands to Inherit as Much as $100 Million from His Estate.

New reporting from The New York Times traces how Karyna Shuliak, Jeffrey Epstein’s girlfriend of nearly eight years, went from a 21-year-old dental assistant in Manhattan to the woman who stands to inherit much of his fortune.

Shuliak was the last person Epstein called from his jail cell before he killed himself in August 2019, the Times reports. She now stands to inherit as much as $100 million from his estate, including a 33-carat diamond ring he left her “in contemplation of marriage,” according to a trove of investigative records the paper reviewed.

The 37-year-old Belarusian dentist has never identified herself as a victim, and federal authorities have never treated her as a co-conspirator in his sex trafficking, the Times found. The FBI appears never to have interviewed her, and none of the lawyers representing Epstein’s hundreds of victims have taken her deposition.

Shuliak was 21 and living in New York on a student visa when a young woman from Siberia, who later told the Times that Epstein had abused her, introduced them in March 2011. Epstein was 58, had already pleaded guilty in Florida to soliciting prostitution from an underage teenager, and moved fast: Broadway tickets, a helicopter ride around Manhattan, a trip to his New Mexico ranch by July, his private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands a few months later. She pushed back at first, telling him she’d “read some information” about him. He told her to ignore “rumors and stories.”

By 2012 he was paying her way into Columbia’s dental school, according to the Times. After the school initially rejected her, Epstein leaned on his own dentist, a powerful alumnus, and dangled a $10 million donation. He ended up giving about $210,000, and she was admitted. Two Columbia dentists also fed her the topics she’d face on her admissions exam, the paper reports. “You are the purest man out of all men,” she wrote to him that June.

When her visa ran out, the Times found, Epstein arranged for a 30-year-old woman from his pool of assistants, later identified as one of his victims, to marry Shuliak in New York in 2013. Shuliak got her green card, became a U.S. citizen in 2018, and divorced the woman the following year. A House Oversight report this year called the marriage potentially “illusory.” Immigration authorities have not challenged her citizenship.

Over nearly eight years, according to the Times, Epstein funneled her close to $1 million, sent tens of thousands more to her parents in Belarus, and gave her a credit card to buy whatever she wanted. She helped manage his properties and staff, ordered “cold Voss water” for his drivers, and helped him try to buy a Moroccan palace weeks before his 2019 arrest. Thousands of their emails are now public: fights about sex, orders from a sexual wellness company, links to pornography, discussions of birth control and acne medication.

Asked about her by the Times, Epstein’s brother Mark said, “I only wish that woman the best.” A friend from Belarus who once shared a Brooklyn apartment with her told the paper she believed Shuliak “truly loved” Epstein.

The estate is now worth between $120 million and $200 million after payouts to victims, the Times reports. Shuliak, who got her New York dental license in November, was quietly working part-time at a Downtown Brooklyn office until a patient recognized her from the released files. Her last day was Feb. 12. “Of all the things that happened to me, I didn’t win the lottery,” the patient told the Times. “I met Epstein’s girlfriend.”
