Shay Mitchell and Hassie Harrison Are Back in the Red One-Piece, Filming Fox’s Baywatch Reboot on Venice Beach

Mitchell plays Trina, a former top-tier lawyer who quit her firm to lifeguard full-time. Harrison, fresh off Yellowstone, plays Nat, a former foster kid turned Olympic athlete who’s held to impossibly high standards on the sand.

Backgrid photographed the two on June 22, 2026, posing on the deck of a pale blue lifeguard tower while crew worked cameras and umbrellas below. Coverage from the same block caught the cast washing lifeguard trucks and running action sequences along the shoreline.

Fox’s reboot is built around Stephen Amell as Captain Hobie Buchannon, son of the original Mitch, with a 12-episode first season mixing established actors and social-media names like Livvy Dunne and Noah Beck. Production nearly lost its Venice Beach location in April 2026 when county officials asked the crew to leave after two days, until LA Mayor Karen Bass and local officials stepped in to keep filming at the franchise’s home.

It premieres January 2027.
