Sabrina Carpenter Wore A Dress Made Of Film Strips From The 1954 Movie That Shares Her Name

By

This is the kind of Met Gala look that takes a minute to fully absorb.

Sabrina Carpenter, as a member of the host committee, walked the 2026 carpet in a custom Christian Dior gown designed by Jonathan Anderson — constructed from rhinestone-trimmed celluloid film strips pulled directly from the 1954 Audrey Hepburn film Sabrina.

Stills of Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart, and William Holden, layered and draped into a high-neck halter silhouette with a thigh-high slit. Bedazzled chain fringe extending from the back of the dress all the way to her fingertips, creating a wingspan effect every time she moved.

The theme was “Fashion is Art.” She showed up wearing cinema.

The personal layer is what makes it genius. The movie isn’t just a classic — it’s her name. She didn’t just dress for the theme, she dressed for her own mythology. A jeweled headpiece with a subtle “Sabrina” nestled among the crystals. Old Hollywood finger waves. Chopard jewelry. The whole thing hitting like a love letter to a version of herself that existed before she did.

Carpenter called it “a dream.” The internet called it the look of the night.

Her fourth Met Gala. First time she’s left people completely speechless.
