Chelsea and Kwame from Love Is Blind Season 4 shut down divorce rumors on April 29. On May 15 they confirmed them.

Chelsea Griffin and Kwame Appiah met in the pods on Love Is Blind Season 4, filmed in Seattle in early 2022 and aired on Netflix in April 2023. They both said yes at the altar at a cherry-blossom-themed wedding that Kwame’s mother declined to attend. They legally married in May 2022.

The show edited Kwame as the hesitant groom while Chelsea was portrayed as all-in. He was open on camera about his stronger pod connection with Micah Lussier, who chose Paul Peden instead. In 2023, he posted unaired romantic footage to push back on the framing. Their joint posts had thinned out over the past few months. On April 29 they posted together to signal that nothing was wrong. On May 15 they posted again to end the marriage.

Chelsea’s statement: “Last week would have marked our fourth wedding anniversary. Out of respect for the life we shared, I wanted to address this moment directly with the community that has supported us over the years. It’s heartbreaking to share that our marriage is coming to an end. This is not the outcome I hoped for, and I entered this relationship with deep love, commitment and the intention of building a lasting life together. I poured my whole heart into this marriage. My mantra going forward is that I am strong, I am resilient, and there is still so much ahead of me.”

Kwame called it “one of the hardest decisions” and said they would “always have respect and care for each other.” Chelsea is a pediatric speech-language pathologist. Kwame was born in Tema, Ghana, played NCAA soccer, and now works in tech and photography.

4 years is one of the longer runs for a Love Is Blind couple who said yes at the altar.
