I Will Love You, But I Will Always Love Myself More
I’ve come to realize that I must always love myself more than any person I date.
In my previous relationships, I always placed the person I loved before me. I loved them more than myself. I always compromised too much, ignored the red flags, got hurt, and lost myself in my relationships. I was left feeling broken, empty and incomplete. I gave up too much of me, hoping that I would get the same amount of love back, but I always ended up disappointed because it never worked that way.
Now I will never love anyone else more than me. I’ve come to realize that I must always love myself more than any person I date.
I’ve always believed in soulmates, but I have realized that mine is myself. No one deserves my love more than I do. I’ve learned that when you love yourself first, everything else will fall into place.
I will love you, but I will always love myself more.
I will love you, but at the end of the day, I am the only person that will always be there for me. And I am the only person that has always been there for me. No one was around whenever I was breaking down into a million pieces; no one heard me cry myself to sleep, no one held my hand when I felt weak and everyone always left. But, I glued myself back together, I wiped my own tears, I held my own hand, I was always there for myself, and because of all these things, I will always love myself more than anyone else.
I will love you, but our future is not set in stone. We don’t know what the future holds or if we are even gonna last. The pages of our story are still being written, and we don’t know what will happen in the next chapter. Therefore, I will always love myself more because if one day we part ways, I will always be able to turn inward to find the love I need to heal my wounds and move on.
I will always love myself more because I realized that when you genuinely love yourself, your capacity to give and receive love from others expands. And loving myself more allows me to love from a full place versus an empty one.
I love myself, and by doing so I can love you. I will love you in the most sincere and real way there is, deeply and unconditionally.
I love all of my dreams, hopes, flaws, imperfections, and everything that is a part of who I am I. And I will love everything that is part of who you are.
I love myself because there is no one like me, and I will love you because there’s no one like you.
I love my virtues and my defects, and I will love yours, too.
I will love you and I show you in words and actions. I’ll go above and beyond, because to see you happy makes me happy.
I will always love myself more, and I want you to love yourself more than what you love me, too.
