I’m done. Not in a snarling Sammi Sweetheart kind of way, but in the most logical, rational, clear-headed and composed way possible: I’m done. I’m done with the dating applications.

While there may have been a bit of a hiatus during the late-summer and fall months, there were still plenty of articles written this year that I could be proud of.

I was warned.

In order to grow as a person you should be learning more about yourself everyday.

Men can have discussions, while boys throw fits.

You can’t be what you think someone else wants you to be. Eventually, the two personas — the real you, and the person you’re pretending to be — will clash, and it will likely end in disaster.

It’s a sign of maturity if you stayed cordial with an ex. It’s plain weird if either of them try to be friendly on a daily basis.

If you settle with the “safer” option, you’ll always wonder, “What could’ve been?” had you pursed the person you really wanted.

Part of me says to reach out and keep you at an arm’s length. Another part of me says to reach out, pull you towards me, and kiss you. Only time will tell which part wins out.

They say “beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” and I just happen to find beautiful qualities in women almost everywhere.

The next person you meet could end up becoming just another number in your phone, or they could be the person you spend the rest of your life with.

I’m not the same man who wrote to you two years ago.

Most of us probably do the majority of our online shopping and swiping at the same part of each day — between the hours of 9 p.m. and 2 a.m., when we’re curled up in our beds or on the couch and have nothing better to do.

We avoid confrontation at all costs, then snap at or blame the other person if they simply seek an explanation.

Anything that can be perceived as a “sign” is nothing more than a happy coincidence that you are subconsciously using as an excuse to justify feeling one way over another.

Everyone has preferences, whether they admit it or not, but they’re more of the topping to your sundae than the flavor itself.
