I started dating a girl in June 2010; we dated for two years, until she moved away in June 2012. Before she left, she wrote a note and put it in my wallet without me knowing.

For some reason, I’ve noticed that more girls tend to be “victims” of this than guys, but that’s not to say it’s not a two-way street.

You don’t need to worry (as much) about doing something stupid.

Go with a group: If you go with a few people you know, it will probably ease your nerves to see them perform.

It’s one of the scariest — and most disrespectful — trends I’ve seen over the last three or four years, and now that it is hitting home, I felt the need to address it.

Dating is hard enough as it is. But when you factor in the “unspoken rules” of dating — particularly with age — it only makes things more difficult.

A few minutes after I got home, I got a text from her, saying that it was nice meeting me. I responded, “The pleasure was all mine.” I thought that this is a pretty well-known phrase and didn’t read much into sending it.

You are automatically the designated driver.

Most clubs are crammed so tight that you can’t move, be it to dance or just navigate to the bar or restroom. Everyone is bumping into everyone, drinking are spilling everywhere, and at some point, you will either have your drink knocked out or you will knock someone else’s out.

Personally, I think that if we threw out the cookie-cutter tray way we approach things, people would be a lot happier.
