While I am often one of the first people to knock our growing dependency on social media and the excess of apps for us to post on and keep up with, I’ve found energy and comfort in sharing and posting on my Instagram story.

I see photos of us on Instagram, inside jokes scattered through Facebook, and old iMessages loitering on my phone. We’re no longer orbiting each other’s worlds. 

Recently, I joined a book club. It is easily one of the smarter and more enriching activities I have participated in post-college.

I loved the calm he brought to my overwhelming life. I was a storm, and he was a vacation. He was worth the trip.

“Boys will be Boys.”

I know that as a teenager, I would not have reconciled the pain and anger from my parent’s divorce if I didn’t have friends who answered their phones or called back in a timely manner.

In the brief time I have spent on these apps, I have come to realize that while the apps make dating, romance, and relationships more accessible, they don’t make dating, romance, and relationships easier.
