I’m not telling you that you have to quit your job to pursue your passions full-time in order to be fulfilled. That’s not true, and sometimes that kind of pressure can extinguish the fire of what we love to do.

It’s about something so much greater than you. Something only you have been chosen to bring to the world. To be sure, you are important, you are irreplaceable, you most certainly matter, but it’s still not about you.

Sometimes grace is a slow and brilliant sunrise; you anticipate its arrival on the horizon after making it through a long dark night. Other times, grace is a subtle and swift breeze when you’d gotten so used to the stillness in the air; a moment of relief felt between sisters in a bathroom mirror — unexpected, but wholeheartedly felt for those few lingering seconds.

What if, instead of proving your worthiness to the world through your success, you proved your success through standing in your worth?

It doesn’t matter if they don’t get it—your parents, your friends, your boss, your followers.

When I say that I love you, I mean that I see you for who you are, even when you don’t see yourself.

It’s not easy letting go, moving forward, even if it is to better places.

Perhaps nothing is more humbling, nothing reminds you more of your humanity, than heartbreak.

Maybe there’s part of you that is choosing to stay where you are, even if you tell yourself it’s not where you want to be.

Rather than have patience, have presence.

I can’t pretend to just be your friend when my heart craves so much more.
