But you couldn’t break your own heart for hints. For implications. For assumptions. You needed a love that yelled its devotion from the rooftops

I see him there and I see for once what I failed to see before: That I broke him.

Just get through the day, this pain cannot be forever, this cannot go on eternally. And you just want to free yourself.

Because life was never about happiness being tethered to a person, or a job, or an ideal set of circumstances. Happiness was there all along.
