10 Things Overachievers Know To Be True

There is no such thing as ‘too much.’ Ever.

1. There is no such thing as ‘too much.’ Ever.

You throw yourself fully into everything you do, whether that’s relationships, tasks at work, hobbies, etc. ‘Too much’ is a phrase for the weak, or so you say. There’s nothing you can’t handle.

2. You have a very, very hard time saying ‘no.’

When it comes to saying ‘no’ to an extra project, to a request from your boss, to another social event on the calendar—you have a really, really hard time. You don’t like to disappoint people; you don’t like to disappoint yourself. And most of all, you want to prove that you can. So you do.

3. You have a love/hate relationship with being busy.

You love the rush of being busy, of having a lot to do, of getting motivated to complete the tasks on your list. But at the same time, you hate that you never really have time for yourself. It’s a complicated love-hate situation.

4. You don’t half-a$$ anything you do.

If you’re going to do it, you’re going to do it right.

5. You’re everyone’s go-to.

From your boss, to your step-mom, to your neighbor, to your friend’s little cousin—you’re the person people will call if they want something done. And you’ll do it.

6. You’re the first person to volunteer to take on a new project or goal at work.

New campaign your company’s working on? Your hand’s the first one up. Parents’ association needs a helper? You’re in. Friend wants to have a deep talk? You’re there. You have no problem volunteering…but sometimes you secretly wish you knew when enough was enough before you’re literally drowning.

7. You tend to be high-strung from time to time.

Let’s face it, you try to do it all…so sometimes you literally kill yourself with your work load. If anyone tries to mess with you on deadline day—watch out!

8. You work well under pressure.

You might kick, scream, complain, or have a complete meltdown on occasion…but for the most part, you’re extremely effective under pressure. There’s nothing you can’t do. And you’ll go out of your way to prove that.

9. You have a separate to-do list for every job, hobby, passion, and interest.

Because having it all in one place would be wayyyy too overwhelming. (#TypeAProblems)

10. And those lists never end. Like ever.

You’ll finish one thing, but rest assured, something else is not too far away. You can’t ever catch a break…but you don’t hate (always) hate it. You’re an overachiever. Busy is the lifestyle. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
