It’s easy, so easy to callous yourself over, to erect a shield around your heart so that it remains untouched by all but the most wicked wounds.

Scorpio is spot on and you know it.

The point of finding yourself is because you don’t know yourself fully. Surrender to the unknowing. Feel it. Live.

“This boss guilts you into every fun run for charity regardless of season. She’ll have you doing a 5k in January if it means a little more money for the Humane Society.”

Then, one day, when I was really at my lowest, I asked myself why am I trying to be thankful for this kind of pain? Why am I thanking “the universe” for this opportunity to “grow”? Is this how I really feel or is it just how I think I’m supposed to feel.

Because his voice will become an echo and his words a whisper.

“Okay, it’s only 1am, I can still get six hours of sleep if I go to sleep right now.”

“Damien was by far the best looking guy I’d ever dated, the tallest, and very much the smoothest. He had this voice that was just velvet and these kind of sleepy eyes. He was a dreamboat by any standard and he liked me. So, I did what any idiot in love does…”

Hold them up, carry them, let them lean on you. Be the kind of friend that your friendship needs. They can’t survive otherwise.

“You can love a lot of things about a person but it’s extremely important to know that just because you love things about them that doesn’t mean you’re in love with them.”

I did a lot of soul searching about why this breakup, which was definitely a good idea, hurt so much and why old breakups hurt so much and, more importantly, how to come to grips with them.

I think I have an answer.
