Straight Men Take Note: 11 Women Confess What They Love About Gay Porn

New research from the scientific journal Porn Studies is taking the internet by storm this weekend as it’s revealed a little discussed peculiarity of women’s pornography consumption habits. Specifically, that gay pornography is overwhelmingly the most preferred and watched genre of pornography available.

The study states that 82% of women prefer gay pornography to all others while 90% of the studies participants stated that they masturbated while viewing it. Of the study sample, only 53% watched lesbian themed pornography while 68% also watched heterosexual pornography.

Pornhub’s data seems to back this prevalence up with data. On their site, self identified females prefer gay pornography above all but one other genre of pornography on the site.

So, everyone is asking, why the preference for male dominated gay pornography? People’s pornography preferences can be a touchy subject and without being anonymous it’s difficult to get a real answer. So, I went to Reddit, where opinions are almost always unfiltered, to see what the women there had to say about the study.

It was extremely interesting and a lot of it seems to have to do with how terrible hetero and lesbian porn actually is and how it’s all geared towards straight men.

Gay porn was a revelation for me. For the longest time I didn’t try watching it because I assumed I wouldn’t like it. But then I did and it’s great, in regular porn there is this feeling of ambivalence I took for granted because I felt kind of put off/repelled staring at random porngirls naughty parts. But with gay porn it’s all either neutral or attractive.

The overwhelming opinion appears to be that straight pornography is too fake, too much like gymnastics in terms of positions, and not at all focused on what a woman might want to actually take part in. On the other end, most women prefer looking at gay males engaged in what appears to be a fun sexual encounter over attractive women pretending to be lesbians for straight men.

So the real question is, since women are over half the population, where’s the straight pornography for women that depicts their actual hetero fantasies?
