Heartbreak Grows You In Ways You Never Imagined
In your search to figure out what comes next, you realize there are aspects of yourself that require attention in order to heal.
“Sometimes it takes a heartbreak to shake us awake & help us see we are worth so much more than we’re settling for.” ― Mandy Hale
After a heartbreak, life grows you in ways you didn’t imagine. The poor habits that are developed over time stare at you with nowhere to turn. You aren’t sure how to even approach them to begin your rebirth. Rebirth because you know that you have changed from the person you knew. There are days you find it challenging to get back to yourself. Your newfound sense of awareness softly whispers to you that the time has come to learn and grow. Your growth is evident in how you respond to life’s waves of change. Change that is never ending.
You begin to find gratitude in the simplest of things. You have woken up to a new version of life and it is a fresh reminder that you are lucky enough to live it. It is up to you to determine how you will live it.
During this period of transition, what people don’t tell you is that choosing to be grateful after a heartbreak can be so damn hard.
In your search to figure out what comes next, you realize there are aspects of yourself that require attention in order to heal.
In your process of healing, remember to allow yourself to stay open. Open to new perspectives, new people, and possibilities. Be open, but guard your heart. Guard it because nobody else will. Practice the lessons you learned from loving somebody that was meant to stay so you can be loved better than before. Don’t settle for anybody who is not deserving of you. Keep your standards high, but don’t expect perfection.
Remember that you are worthy of a love that is patient, loyal, forgiving, rare, mutual, brave, and selfless. Above all, keep in mind that in a relationship the daily actions toward one another are the culmination of love. And that is beautiful.
Not perfect, but beautiful.
