This Is Your Reminder That Not Everything Deserves Your Response
The power of what we choose to engage in and what we don’t choose to is completely underrated.

The truth is, there are very few things that actually deserve our engagement.
The power of what we choose to engage in and what we don’t choose to is completely underrated.
As I have gotten older and as I’ve traveled through my quest of finding my own happiness and enlightenment, I’ve realized just how few things truly are worthy of our responses.
The happiest people know what it is that is both worthy and unworthy of their attention.
You don’t need to respond to everything.
You don’t need to go out of your way to shame someone for doing something that you don’t like or that you disagree with.
You don’t need to be reactive towards someone when they don’t want to be part of your life anymore, even if you feel rejected.
You don’t need to complain to someone about another person and what they are doing in their world.
You don’t need to express your discontentment about every little thing.
You don’t need to make a big deal about your friends who can’t show up for you how you need them to.
You don’t need to get feisty if someone triggers or insults you.
You don’t need to text someone back when they say something you don’t like.
You don’t need to constantly be defending your actions and words to everyone.
You don’t need to perseverate on who is and isn’t friends.
You don’t need to belittle people about their belief system if it doesn’t align with yours.
You don’t need to comment back to negative comments on social media when someone says something you don’t like.
We really need to understand and fully grasp that our power and love for ourselves isn’t a product of the war we start with others to defend ourselves, but rather our ability to maintain both inner and outer peace at all times. And especially when we feel offended or triggered.
This is your reminder that not everything deserves your response. In fact, most things don’t.
Go be the badass you are. Go be the magic maker that creates beauty from times that are anything but beautiful. Find your power in the midst of keeping to yourself, find your peace in the middle of what appears to be war, and find your voice in the moments that you choose to be silent.
Most things don’t deserve your attention.
