This Is Why She Is Better Off Without You

She's better off without you because you took too much of her when you were with her. You took too many pieces. You took too much. And you never, ever gave anything back.

She’s better off without you. I know you think you’re the best thing to ever exist, and you think anyone would be lucky to be with you. But the truth is, anyone would be lucky to be with her. Not you.

She’s better off without you because instead of making her life better, you made her life worse. Instead of making her life easier, you made her life more complicated. Instead of turning her life into a sanctuary, you turned it into a war zone.

You were never the sun in this equation. Never the brightest star. Never the center of the stage. Never the one who was meant to have everything they ever wanted. You were never meant to show up in her life and destroy it. You were never meant to break her whole heart.

She’s better off without you because she doesn’t need a man to define her worth. She doesn’t need a man to make her feel special, or to give her life more meaning. She’s better off without because you’re not a man. You’re just a little boy, a coward, so scared of your own self.

She’s better off without you because you took too much of her when you were with her. You took too many pieces. You took too much. And you never, ever gave anything back.

You never gave your heart to her, when all she did was give it up.

She’s better off without you because she is sure of herself. She knows who she is and what she wants. She doesn’t need your reassurance or your advice. She doesn’t need a boyfriend to hold her hand when she’s upset. she doesn’t need anyone to pick her up when she is falling.

She’s better off without you because she has herself.

She can stand on her own two feet now. She doesn’t sway anymore or wilt. She has a confidence that you never had, and she has a strength inside of her that you will never have.

She has a wildfire in her soul. She has an ocean in her heart and storm inside her bones.

She doesn’t need a boy like you. Maybe she thought she did for a while. Maybe she thought she did at first. Maybe she thought she was the weak link. That she needed someone to guide her towards a better life.

But you were never that light for her. Never that compass. Never that map. And she doesn’t need a boy who will only ever think of himself, instead of her.

She doesn’t need you.

Not anymore. Not anymore. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
