11 Things People Don’t Realize You’re Doing Because You’re Self-Sabotaging Your Life
You never follow through with your goals. Maybe you had a goal last year to write a book, or you had a fitness goal to lose fifteen pounds. No matter what the case is, you quit too easily.
1. You are your own worst critic.
You can’t help it, but you never think you are good enough. You don’t think you’re worth anyone’s time of day and can’t think of any reasons why anyone could like you or would want to spend time with you.
2. You make plans just to cancel them.
You use every excuse in the book to cancel every plan you make. You get so excited for these plans, but cancel them right beforehand because you don’t think it will be anything worthwhile. You always, always, think it will end in a disaster.
3. You can’t break your bad habits.
Whether you smoke cigarettes, drink too much, or eat an unhealthy amount of junk food every day, you can’t stop it. No matter how hard you try, you can’t cut it out. Deep down inside, you don’t think you deserve to live a better and happier life.
4. You end perfectly good relationships.
Your significant other could have it all: the looks, the brains, the great family, and of course the great skills in bed. But no matter how much you like them, or think there could be a future with them, you walk out. You leave. Why? You’re petrified it will be all for nothing.
5. You get into trouble for the sake of drama.
For the sake of going on an adventure or being a dare-devil, you sometimes find yourself in sticky situations. You try to get out of your comfort zone constantly, but you always ends up going a step too far.
6. You turn down people more frequently than ever before.
You have dating apps on your phone, but when someone who is cute asks you out, you delete the app immediately. You honestly don’t think it will be worth your time, or theirs. Why bother, right?
7. You give up too easily.
No matter how much you want to get something done, you always do it at the last minute or give up entirely. You tell yourself that you don’t have the energy to finish it, and that you don’t have the mind capacity to do it well.
8. You don’t ask enough questions.
Whether it’s in your career or personal life, you don’t ask enough questions. When your boss sends you into a meeting, you never ask about a raise or about the job benefits. You don’t think highly of yourself enough to even bother asking.
9. You never stand up for yourself.
You never have, and you still don’t know how to. You don’t know how to put your foot down and get what you deserve. You don’t know how to make it known that you are a great person and that you deserve the raise, or the promotion, or the relationship. Deep down, you truly don’t think you do deserve it.
10. You feel sorry for yourself. All of the time.
Because you self-sabotage yourself frequently, you find yourself feeling sorry for yourself. You wallow in self-pity even if you are the main problem. And even if it’s your fault your life is what it’s like right now, you never change your outlook.
