I Love You Because…
Your “I love you” is comprised of holding my hand when I am at my weakest, kissing my forehead when I am worried, and always supporting me for whatever I aspire to be.
I cannot find the perfect words to elaborate how thankful I am for having you in my life. And I don’t even know if these words could ever justify my sincerest gratitude.
I love you for always reminding me how beautiful I am. Even at my worst, you never cease to lift me up. You continuously love and admire me. You never left, and you never stopped. You were and are always there through thick and thin, through all the times I break down and give up.
I love you even if you’re a person of few words, little gestures, and simple surprises. You made me realize that it isn’t about how big your anniversary gift is, it’s not about how long we’ve been together, it’s not about how expensive our dinner dates are, it’s always about the simplicity and the practicality — it’s about the love that keeps our relationship going.
I love you for your little rants about life and your expectations about the future. Your dreams and frustrations make realize that even though I have put you on a pedestal, you are still human, and your imperfections make me love you more.
I love you for never promising anything, for always showing and making me feel the words that I should be hearing. Your “I love you” is comprised of holding my hand when I am at my weakest, kissing my forehead when I am worried, and always supporting me for whatever I aspire to be. You always push me to become better, as you believe that even though I don’t have much time now, I will always have time for you in the future.
I love you for your annoying mannerisms and your bad memory. I may hate reminding you every day about what you have to do, and it is weird how you stick your tongue out whenever you write or type. But it amuses me how your memory chooses the lovely tiny details, as it entwines perfectly with how I always want to capture the big story.
I love you for always passing by my apartment and kissing me every morning even if you know that I haven’t taken a bath, brushed my teeth, or even combed my hair. You always amaze me how you find me the most beautiful during that time of the day.
I love you for the two thousand and one hundred ninety days that we’ve been together. Because since day one, you have proven to me that it can always get better. And it does, and continuously gets better. I love you for all days we’ve spent, and our late night calls. I love our little arguments about where to eat, and I love that our fights never last for an hour or two. I love that we are never perfect.
And even if I want to further elaborate how much I love you, I’d rather make you feel it every day. I love you from your head to your toes, to every part of you. I love you for your flaws, your imperfections, and the dreams we have shared. I love you for your frustrations and our little arguments. I love you for your little life lessons and your long sermons. I love you for your kisses, your hugs, your touch, and your smile.
Well I guess… I really love you, every bit of you, every story, and every day.
