You Are Worth More Than Someone Who Won’t Even Text You Back
If it’s you always making the dates and the hangouts — you should take a step back and realize you are worth more.
Put down the phone, darling.
That’s right, I said put it down. If he hasn’t texted you back in an hour, or two, or three, just put it down. You are worth so much more than that.
I know in today’s culture we are told it’s okay if he doesn’t make the first move. That it’s okay if you text him first. That it’s okay if you’re the one always asking to make plans, that it’s okay to be the one organizing the time to be together. You know what? Sometimes it is okay.
Yet if it’s always you texting him first; if it’s always you laying on the couch staring at your phone, hoping that the hours of space between texts means he’s just busy; if it’s you always making the dates and the hangouts — you should take a step back and realize you are worth more.
You are worth more than short late night texts and half interested conversations. More than vague compliments and empty promises. You are beautiful, you are incredible, and you have so much more to offer this world than wasting thoughts wondering why he isn’t giving you the attention that deep down you know you deserve.
I know sometimes he texts you and it’s wonderful. He has really interesting conversations with you, compliments you, and makes you feel on top of the world. I know that when you two are together, he will kiss your forehead and tell you that you look amazing. I know that it’s because of those moments, those magical moments, that you don’t want to let him go.
I promise you that if you have put yourself out there, and he isn’t responding much, or at all, it isn’t simply because he is busy or passive. All of us have busy lives, including you, but we make time for the thing we think are important. He unfortunately doesn’t see all the wonder and the magic that you hold inside of your heart, the things I know you want to show him if he would just ask.
You are worth more. Please spend your time on someone who sees that, instead of trying to get him to turn his head this way. I know it’s hard and I know it hurts.
But please, know that you are worth more.
